Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. - Philippians 4:9 NIV
All our lives, we have people we look up to as teachers, mentors, and guides. When we are young, it may begin with our parents; then, as we mature, it may be teachers and coaches. Later, when we start work, we may have mentors and leaders. These folks all influenced us as we developed into who we are as we listened to their wisdom and put it into practice.
Paul certainly had much knowledge and experiences to share, beginning with his dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. An incredible journey that turned him from persecutor to a processor of faith. Through records of his evangelism captured in his letters, he has been a teacher to millions of people. His witness continues to convert and inspire followers of Jesus today.
We have the same mission. While we may not have the same influence as Paul, we are given the same authority. Our words and actions carry the same potential to teach others. It is our assignment to witness and encourage others on their spiritual journeys. When we do this, we will be blessed by God because we are obeying his will.
Jesus, we thank you for our own stories of salvation. Help us be righteous examples for others. Bless our words that they may enlighten and uplift for your glory. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
