Over the summer, the shrubs and ground cover around the house began looking pretty shaggy. So, last weekend we decided it was time to tackle the chore. Decision made, I started looking for the hedge trimmers. I searched high and low, checking the shed, utility room, and garage–no hedge trimmers. Rather than procrastinate, I went to the nearest big box home improvement store and replaced them. Coming back fully equipped, we finished the chore and tamed the jungle in the front yard.
Although in life sometimes we lack the physical tools, today's scripture assures us that Christ provides us with all the spiritual equipment we need. Through Christ, we have the most extensive and exemplary array of tools in God's word, the Bible. We never need to worry about something missing; it's all there, though sometimes we may need to search. In addition, we are further equipped with the Holy Spirit, which can help us find what we are looking for and show us how to use it when necessary–our spiritual YouTube.
Thank you, God, for equipping us with what we need to live godly lives. Help us use the tools you have graciously given to glorify you. Amen.
