Unusual Ways

Writer: timothyrsoutherntimothyrsouthern

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

It is incredible how the Lord works—sometimes providing the things we need in the most unusual ways at just the right time. We may not realize it at the time, but looking back later, we can connect the dots.

In sending his sinless son to take the sinful form of man, God did a most unusual thing. He could have chosen to continue under the old covenant of animal sacrifice, but he did this seemingly shocking thing for our sake. In Jesus, he provided a new covenant and an example of what his righteousness can look like in humanity.

God’s plan of restoration happened at just the right time -- because it was his time. He sent us what we didn't even know we needed. Jesus in his earthly form was a point-in-time event, but the salvation brought about by God’s plan is a forever event.

Father, thank you for providing for us what we need when it is needed. Often we are unaware of our real needs, but in your infinite wisdom, you know. We give thanks for the salvation that cleanses us and makes us pure. We ask for your help today to act with righteousness in all we do. In the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Tim
