“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” - Revelation 4:11 NIV
Have you ever thought about the creation? God existed before our time; in fact, there has never been a time when he was not. So, why did he create all of this? By that, I mean everything that exists, all the space, time, energy, and laws that comprise not just our universe but all universes and parallel universes. It is mind-blowing! There is only one reason I can think of why God did this; it is simply an expression of his benevolence--his love for all of us.
Yet, how often do we stop to think about this beautiful gift? The answer, of course, sadly seldom. Instead, we take it all for granted. Waking each morning is just assumed—our days filled with an endless list of “to-dos” without stopping to give thanks. We look out for windows, and we see grass to mow, another tree to prune, without giving pause to wonder at the creation, without taking time to honor and glorify the Creator.
Elohim, Adonai, YHWH, God of many names, we thank you for all of your creation. We confess we take for granted this wonderful gift, and we have failed to give you the praise you so rightfully deserve. We stand in awe and proclaim you as our Lord, worthy of all honor and glory. Please help us be ever mindful of the expressions of your love we experience each moment of our lives. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
