Good Tired

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9 NLT

Have you heard the expression “good tired”? It’s that feeling when you’ve exerted yourself, worked hard, or accomplished something significant, and although you’re physically exhausted, there’s a sense of satisfaction or fulfillment. Imagine completing a challenging task, running a marathon, or giving your all to a project—despite the fatigue, you feel content because your effort was worthwhile. It’s like being pleasantly exhausted after a good workout or a productive day.

Inevitable tiredness comes with everything we do–even things we love. That is just part of being human. But today's verse encourages us not to grow tired of doing good, that our actions have consequences, and that perseverance in doing good, especially when challenging, will lead to blessings, both in this life and beyond.

We never know what we say or how our actions may bless others. We may not witness the immediate fruit of our actions, but in God's proper time, the blessing will be returned to us. In waiting, we should not grow faint and discouraged but continue to do good deeds. Through the Holy Spirit, God refreshes us with the strength and encouragement we need to tarry on.

Loving God, we are thankful for the work of the Holy Spirit within us. You provide the rest and encouragement we need when we feel weary and discouraged, helping us to find fulfillment even in weariness. Bless our words and actions so others may experience your love through us. Let the good we do be not for our glory but for yours. May every day be a "good tired'' in your service. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Tim
