What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 8:31 NLT
Recall a recent conversation with someone when you asked them about something they love. It doesn't matter what it is, kids, grandkids, pets, hobbies, or whatever. You notice an instant change in demeanor. It's not health, weather, or some other mundane topic; this is something they get excited about. Many of us likely do the same thing; we love talking about the people and things we love.
Our love for God is the same way. It is easy to get excited about someone who loves us so much. Someone willing to die for us so that we can be freed from our mistakes–and he keeps on, knowing we will make more and ready to forgive when we do. It'sIt's a one-of-a-kind sort of love.
There is NOTHING that can ever separate us from God's love! The Apostle Paul writes, "Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (38â€-‬39)
Having experienced that love, recalling how God has been with us through thick and thin that's something to get excited about. It's a love story too good to keep to ourselves. We want to share with others; we want them to experience the same peace and joy. If we had pictures, we'd be showing them. It's that beautiful kind of thing.
Father God, we don't have enough words to thank you for your love. You pulled us from the abyss of sin and set our feet on the solid path. When we stumble, you lift us again. There is NOTHING that can come between your love for us. We confess we have failed and been inconsistent in our steadfast love for you. Forgive us; we pray. Help us continually be aware of your love and return it with grateful adoration. Help us share our passion for you with others; guide our actions and give us the words. We pray in the name of your Son and our Savior, Christ Jesus. Amen.
Blessing,
Pastor Tim
