Whatever

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV
In Paul's day, the Corinthians questioned \whether Christians could eat what had been sacrificed to idols. Paul's reply focused not so much on what was eaten; there were allowable circumstances under which they could partake. For example, if they were asked to participate in some ritual that worshiped a false god, that would not be acceptable because that is in opposition to God. But in sharing a meal, they also had the opportunity to share their faith. So, whether they ate or didn't, their reasoning should be to exalt God.
The same principle applies to every aspect of our lives. While we live in the world, we are spiritually apart. Therefore, we must meet people where they are to spread the freeing message of Christ while maintaining our faith. It may be challenging and uncomfortable sometimes, but the Holy Spirit will always direct us on the right path.
Precious and loving Lord, help us to be messengers today. When faced with temptation, give us the strength to say no. Grant us courage and words to share the good news of Christ with others. May whatever we do be for your glory.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
