Blameless Lives

The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.

Proverbs 20:7 NIV

We have lost a lot of good folks in our church over the last few months. Friends that were dear to us and whom we loved. If they weren't blameless, they were pretty close. I can say that because I knew their faith in God and their love of family. In meeting with friends and families, they shared stories of the importance of the departed in their lives. Some things shared were common, but often a unique bond existed between the two people. A special blessing they would carry with them.

Can we all lead blameless lives? Yes, I can say that with absolute certainty. We can reach perfection in this life. Is it easy? No! We are constantly faced with temptations and obstacles and need God's help. The Holy Spirit is our true north to righteousness. To live righteously, though, is to leave a beautiful legacy, not only of our lives but of God. The stories of what our faith means to us, and our values, will be passed down through the generations.

God, we give thanks for the direction of the Holy Spirit and your Son, Jesus Christ, who is our perfect example of righteousness. Precious Lord, help us to lead blameless lives and be your legacy to others. Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Tim
