When we show interest in what we are doing and work hard to get better, we are often rewarded in our careers. Sometimes they may send us for additional training and seminars or provide us the opportunity to take on new responsibilities. Occasionally, we may even receive gifts and monetary bonuses. However, while it's nice to be noticed and rewarded, our motivation should not be tied to the hope of recognition but because we love what we do.
God also rewards us. He looks at our willingness to take on tasks and our enthusiasm to serve. In those tasks we don't feel adequate, he provides what we need -- the wisdom, courage, and strength -- just because we are willing. Are financial resources a concern? No problem, if it is God's will, then he will provide the money.
Each day we are given a new opportunity to serve with enthusiasm. We all have different gifts, some of which we are aware, yet others lie hidden to be discovered. When we trust in the Lord and use whatever our talents to the best of our ability, showing enthusiasm in each task, we will be blessed. Through the Holy Spirit, God will reveal opportunities for more incredible blessings.
God of many blessings, we thank you for new opportunities. Search our hearts and minds and use the talents you find there to further your kingdom. Guide us as will and make of us what you will. Please help us in everything we do, to do it for your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
