At one time, Janice and I would do a little tent camping. Usually, the wilderness spots at the campground were on the outskirts. The remoteness was lovely and peaceful but also very dark. After the sun went down, you realized the value of a good flashlight. It was critical to keep you from bumping into hard objects and tripping over tree roots.
In life, we need God's flashlight to help us navigate through the darkness. Unfortunately, Satan, always willing to be unhelpful, throws obstacles and hazards in our way, hoping we will trip up. However, through the illumination of the scripture, prayer, and guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can avoid these stumbling blocks.
God, we thank you for your flashlight. Its light illuminates the clear path. Please help us not to be foolish and flounder in darkness but to walk in your light. Amen.
