And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation. Romans 5:9 NLT
When a prisoner is released, they frequently find reentry difficult. Though they have served their sentence, they return to a society not quite willing to forgive. They are often shunned by family, friends, the community, and, sadly, even our churches. They face challenges in employment, housing, and mental and physical health. Without support and assistance programs, they remain condemned and threatened with failure.
Thanks to God's grace, we do not remain under condemnation. By the blood of Jesus Christ, we receive not partial but complete forgiveness when we repent of our sins. Not forced to await reentry or condemned to wait in some spiritual limbo, our forgiveness is immediate. We enjoy the total freedom of a reconciled child of God.
Gracious and compassionate God, we thank you for your full and immediate forgiveness. We pray today for the prisoners serving time and those who are released. Open our hearts and churches to forgiveness, and show us how we can help. We pray this in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
