From Fear to Courage

Writer: timothyrsoutherntimothyrsouthern

Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - Isaiah 41:10

General George Patton once said, “Courage is fear holding on a minute longer.” The challenge, though, is to hold on for that extra minute. When we are anxious and fearful, that can seem like an eternity.

In today's verse, we hear God's reminder we are not alone. In the promise of "I am" and "I will," we hear the assurance of God's commitment to us. He desires to free us from fear and deliver us to victory.

Heavenly Father, giver of deliverance, we give you thanks and praise for victories of the past and those to come. We confess at times, we are fearful, and Satan tells us "we can't,” but we recall your promise that "we can." We believe this because "You are" and "You will." Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Tim
