For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
As children, we may have been asked, "What would you like to be when you grow up?" We may have responded with something like, "doctor, police officer, or firefighter," As we got into high school, we were expected to have an idea of what career we wanted to pursue. Some of us may have found this challenging, as we changed college majors and job searching for who we are. During this time, we look for answers to the more significant questions, 'What am I doing here?" and "What is God's purpose for me?"
Even in those searching days, we can find comfort in the promise; God has a plan for us! Granted, it may not be evident to us at that moment, and we need to pray for guidance, but be assured, we are here for a purpose. The plan God has for us, whatever it is, is ordained not simply for us but is part of his overarching grand plan of everything. We are part of the whole mystery of God. God's plan for us -- that we may even be unaware of -- contains a future of hope and prosperity. Not earthly riches but the wealth of heaven.
God, we thank you for the plan you have for us. As we go through times of uncertainty, may we look to you for guidance. God, take our lives and make them wholly yours. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
