Our imaginations can be a wonderful thing. When we are reading a book, we can fill in the landscape and setting not described by the author. When we hear classical music, we can be transported to peaceful, idyllic settings. It allows us to create both beautiful art and remarkable inventions. We imagine a thing and then bring it into being.
However, our imaginations are limited when it comes to what God can do. We allow ourselves to be bound by human limitations of possibility. "There is no way I could ever do that!" God, though, has no such restrictions, and it is through the Holy Spirit that He gives us the power to do things we formerly thought impossible.
God, greater than imagination, we give thanks for your power at work in us. Please help us as we redefine what is possible through you. Help us to be your willing instruments of change in our families, church, and communities. May all those we come in contact with see you in us. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
