Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. - Philippians 4:9 NIV
All of our lives, we have people we look up to. When we are young, it may begin with our parents; then, as we mature, it may be teachers and coaches. Later, when we start work, we may have mentors and leaders. These folks all influenced as we developed into who we are as we listened to their wisdom and put it into practice.
Paul certainty had much wisdom to share, beginning with his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, from becoming a persecutor to a processor of faith. He was sharing not for his ego and praise, but so all would put his wisdom into practice. He desired to be an influencer for Jesus Christ.
We have the same mission today. While we may not have the same influence as Paul, we are given the same authority. Our words and actions carry the same potential to influence others. It is our task to invite and encourage others in their spiritual journeys.
Jesus, we thank you for our own stories of salvation. Please help us be righteous examples for others. May our words and actions convict, convert and encourage. May all be for your glory. Amen.
