When I think back over the people who have been a positive influence, they have primarily been doers and not speakers. I would put my grandparent’s Chambers in that category. Neither big talkers, but in their interactions with everyone, they demonstrated goodness to others.
We've all heard the expression, "Actions speak louder than words." It's true both for the good and bad. We can talk about God's love to others, likely with little effect, but when we show what God's love means, the message speaks volumes. On the other hand, if our actions are inconsistent with what we say, it can become harmful. In all, we say, and do we need to seek God's guidance. We need to ensure that everything is for His glory.
Father God, we thank you for the light Jesus brought into this world. As his disciples, please help us carry that light into the world. Bless everything that we say and do that they may be for your glory. Let those we greet today come to know you through us. In your Son, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
