"The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all."
Psalms 103:19 NIV
Long before the orb we call earth and the star we call the sun was formed, God was there. He had already determined the order of all that is and all that will be. Every single proton, electron, and neutron in all the planets and stars in all the universes are under his command. The thought of the Lord's dominion is nothing short of awesome.
The intricate fabric of our lives that God has woven are considerations for things that may or may not yet happen. Included are decisions we have made and will make. The decisions others have made and will make for us. Every good and bad experience we have or will have, are all knitted together. In his infinite wisdom, God works all of this together for good -- even the bad stuff.
Among all of God's creations, all the things he rules, he still desires a personal relationship with each of us. We are honored beyond measure to be permitted such a relationship. Yet, we often take it for granted and fail to worship God with the fear and awe we should.
Lord, we come before you today humbled, honored, and in awe of your presence. Gracious God, thank you for creating us, guiding our lives, and providing a way of redemption. We confess we fail to worship you as we should, we take for granted your awesomeness, and we abuse your grace. Please forgive us once again, and help us from this moment forward to work for the kingdom you desire. In your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
