Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalms 34:8 NIV
If you were like me, Campbell's soup was a staple in your home. It was an inexpensive meal, tasted good, and provided a sense of comfort. Early memories include mom serving chicken noodle soup when I had a cold. Grilled cheese and tomato soup are still one of my go-to comfort foods. True to their old slogan, they are "M'm! M'm! Good!"
As much as I like Campbell's soup, it fills a physical need. God is the only one who can fill our spiritual hunger. Once we have tasted his goodness, the emptiness we feel becomes satisfied. But it also offers a foretaste of our heavenly home. A time when we are united with Jesus Christ and all the saints for eternity sated in God's love.
Gracious and loving Father, we thank you for the foretaste of our heavenly home. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, so all we do today is for your glory. Help us share the message of Jesus Christ with those searching to fill their spiritual hunger. We pray this in the name of your Son and our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
