This past year has been one of losses for many of us. Loved family and friends who have transitioned from this world to the next. We all know that is the natural order; we are born, live, and our physical presence is no more.
As God's children, we have a promise. We can't stop the inevitable, but we find the strength to withstand all things in this human life with Christ. We also have the peace of knowing through him there is no end but an alteration of our earthly vessels to a heavenly form that will never fail. Our faith in this promise helps us through the losses of dear ones. We have the hope we will see them again someday.
Heavenly Father, Alpha and Omega, we give thanks for your endless love. Though our lives are a brief span on earth, you have created us for the eternal. Bless us in this coming year that may love you and our neighbors like never before. Impart in us the strength and passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Please help us yield to the Holy Spirit, and may all our words and actions glorify you. Amen.
