I will call to mind the deeds of the Lord; I will remember your wonders of old. I will meditate on all your work, and muse on your mighty deeds. Psalms 77:11-12 NRSV
Over the last few days, we've had the delightful opportunity to reconnect with family we haven't seen in a long time. As can be expected, we spent many hours discussing events and people from the past. As with all memories, there was a mixture of joy and pain, each equally important because they have made us who we are.
Meditating on our spiritual journey gives us much the same experience. We recall our times of elation and disappointment and remember how God is with us in each. Sometimes in looking backward, it's easier to see the where, when, and how of God's mighty deeds and how we've grown as a result.
Mighty God, we pause at this moment, recall all your wonders, and praise you. In reflection, we remember that you are always with us, listening, caring, guiding, and loving. Thank you for all you do for us. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
