The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; - Psalms 34:19 NIV
Have you ever needed roadside assistance? Things still happen despite taking good care of our vehicles, regular oil changes, and routine maintenance. We may pick up a nail in a tire, or the car won't start one cold morning. As much as we plan, the unexpected still happens. Not being mechanically inclined myself, it means a call to AAA. In a short time, the issue is fixed, or the car has been towed to someone who can.
As we all know, just because we have given our lives to Christ and our living as faithful disciples do not mean our lives will be without troubles. Flat tires and dead batteries happen to the just and the unjust. For Jesus said, "He (God) causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Mt 5:44). The difference is that we have the promise of deliverance; we have something better than AAA. No matter the situation, no matter the time of day, God is only a prayer away.
God, we give you thanks for your deliverance. You promise to help your children in all our troubles. So, we are calling on you now to help us through the things going on in our lives. Let our deliverance from our current trials serve as a testimony to your glory. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
