Single Aim

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” — Acts 20:24 (NIV)

Other translations phrase this differently—“I do not account my life of any value” or “my life is worth nothing to me”—but the NIV captures Paul’s focus in three simple words: my only aim.

We’re pulled in many directions today. Providing for family. Building a legacy. Caring for others. These are good and honorable aims. But Paul reminds us that only one aim can anchor all the others: living in a way that points to the grace of Jesus—including sharing our testimony of how God has changed our lives.

When Christ becomes our single aim, everything else finds its right place.

Lord, center my scattered aims in You. Let my life—and my story—testify to Your grace today.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Tim
