Superpower

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20‭-‬21 NIV


In 2003, former British Special Forces paratrooper Ken Jones, while hiking alone in Romania, experienced two avalanches. After digging himself out of the rubble, he trekked down the mountain with a broken leg and crushed pelvis in freezing temperatures. It took him a total of four days to reach the nearest town. We occasionally hear of other remarkable feats like these. When faced with what seems like impossible odds, people become endowed with almost superhuman powers.


When Christ sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us, he gave us a superpower from above. This power comes from our God, who can do anything -- there are no limits to what he can do. With this beautiful gift, we also can do all things that are to his purpose.


Because God has immeasurable power, we also can think big. We should not limit our thinking of how we can serve him. Through our faith and the Holy Spirit, all things are possible. Not only for us today but for every believer in Christ that follows.


Precious Lord, thank you for the gift of the superpower of the Holy Spirit. We confess we are unworthy and that in your grace, you grant this gift. Father, please help us dream big in our service to you, with the confidence that everything is possible. Use us today to bring about your kingdom here on earth. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
