For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV
Throughout high school and college, I worked in sales. For me, the hardest part of the sale was the approach, actually walking up and greeting the person. You can learn the products, features, and closing techniques, but none of the rest matters unless you are willing to approach the potential customer. If you're timid, you're not likely to make a sale; it's doubtful someone will walk up to you and hand you the cash.
The Holy Spirit gives us the strength to overcome our timidity. We already know how great God is; we have first-hand knowledge of the change he has made in our lives. Emboldened by the Spirit, he gives us the courage, compassion, and confidence to share our good news with others.
Gracious God, we give you thanks for the Holy Spirit. By its power, we can do things we before thought impossible. Unashamed, we can boldly proclaim what you have done and continue to do in us and the hope you offer others. Please give us the words today as we talk with others, and may what we say and do glorify you. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Tim
