The Go-Between

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. Timothy 2:5-6

In life, we find ourselves using go-betweens when we want to make something happen but can't pull it off by ourselves. I met Janice at a party, but thanks to our mutual friend Cindy acting as the intermediary, we had our first date. Whether it's aiding us in romance, business dealing, or political alliances, we need mediators.

We need Jesus as our go-between to God. He does more than carry our prayers but as our mediator pleads on our behalf. There is no one else that can do this. Jesus is uniquely qualified because of his time spent with us on earth and the ransom he paid. As we do, Jesus experienced joy, sadness, hunger, anger, and other emotions. When we pour out our feelings openly and honestly to the man Christ Jesus, he shows us love and compassion in presenting our prayers to our one Heavenly Father.

God, we give thanks for you, Son, our go-between Jesus Christ and the price he paid to redeem us. We are thankful for the reconciliation with you found in him. We give you the praise Father Almighty for all your good gifts, and we ask that your will be done in all things in our lives. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Peace,

Pastor Tim
