For I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. - Romans 1:16 NIV
Looking back over our lives, more than likely, we have done a few things of which we are not proud. We may even have done something that gives us regret and, yes, even shame. But, thanks to God's grace, we are forgiven when we come in repentance.
There are other things for which we can be unashamed, helping others, being kind, and showing love. However, we can also rejoice and be unashamed in the inclusive message of Christ. For it is in this gospel we find hope and freedom. Through our faith in Jesus Christ, our sin and shame forgiven, we become a new creation. In this joy, we can boldly share the cleansing power of God with others. We can unabashedly speak of our experience with others, all others. For all are covered by Christ's atoning blood.
God, thank you for your forgiveness, for making us unashamed. We ask for boldness in sharing your gospel, the good news given for all. We pray this in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
