Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Occasionally we read stories of people lost in the woods wandering in circles. In 2007, a group of German scientists tried to figure out why. They debunked the old theory of one leg being shorter than the other. Instead, what seems to happen is without a GPS, compass, or direct visual aid, our brains become disoriented, thinking straight is round.
God is our GPS (Godly Positioning System), and without Him, we wander around in circles, lost. Not able to rely on our understanding, we become befuddled. We make the same mistakes, looping back to a previous place repeatedly. But in consulting our GPS, we become reoriented and back on to the straight path.
Merciful God, thank you for saving us from walking in circles. Help us submit to you so we may walk in your straight paths. Amen.
Shalom,
Pastor Tim
